Going to get a s250 here in a few days and dealer says it needs a bucket, just wondering which one I should get. I will be moving snow with it, and doing odd jobs at our acreage. What should I get? Is there any grapple buckets that would work with moving snow and gravel/dirt? I think one of them would be super handy. Thanks guys!

low profile bucket. get the bolt on side extentions for when you move snow. bobcat also sells grapple that bolts onto their buckets, all predrilled ready to go.

Snow buckets aren't meant for digging but having written that, my dad has been using a 78" on his machine for about 4 years without any problems. I moved 15 tandem axle loads of dirt with my 8 foot snow bucket. You just have to understand they are built with lighter gauge steel in most cases so you can't beat on them quite as much. Grapples are nice but I'd search C.L for one.

BTW, a 8' snow bucket is great on the S250. It's what I plow my drive with. I think you can go up to a 9' in the snow bucket depending on the manufacturer.

80" low profile or a C&I bucket, both are heavy duty buckets. Stick with an 80", 74" is wide enough, but really is too small. Hell be greedy, a 250 can handle a 84" if you really want too. Low pro are most common, but I'd try to at least see a C&I in person to see which you like better. Either way get a bolt on cutting edge, really saves wear on the bucket. Best bet with a grapple is get a separate one. There are many styles to choose from.

LP are the best for cutting edge visibility. they really are the way to go. i only recommended the side extentions for when you move snow, but of course a snow bucket would be the best option for snow.
