I got a good deal on a nice LS190 a weeks ago to resell, but the yellow boom "link" bars were cracked on the front of them and it showed symptoms of needing a new hydraulic pressure sensor, because the engine would shut off every 30 seconds. A buddy of mine has a 180 and told me what was wrong with it - the pressure sensor!! I found a nice set of them off of a LX885 for $500 and set out to get them installed. After calling around and hearing answering machines (!!!) and "we're too busy" 20 times, I gave up and called a local New Holland dealer (Peabudy's in Sterling, Illinois). After learning that they had put the sensor in and the machine ran like new again, the service manager (25-27 year old Wyo-Tech graduate!!!) also told me that the cab mounts for the boom links were cracked and needed weld repair, and that they wouldn't do that because of the "liability"!!! Should have called Wyo-Tec!!!!! So I called back and told their receptionist to tell the service manager NOT to put the links on, because they had to come back off to do the welding, as THEY refused to do this repair for me!!! As luck and ignorance would have it, they put my new links on, at a cost of about $770 (after quoting me $2 hours on the phone!!!!) and ordered a new boom pin ($227!!!) without my permission!!! So there ya' have it - the machine is back in one piece and the boom link mounts on the cab STILL need to be repaired!! The bill? $997+!!!!! For, what SHOULD have been the installation of a new hydraulic fluis pressure sensor, and putting my new wheels and tires on it!!!! Yes, REALLY!!! Being pissed off so bad that I could eat nails, I loaded it up on my trailer and took it home!!! PLEASE DON'T ANSWER THIS IF YOU HAVEN'T DON IT........... 1. I was told by another Holland dealer that you can gain access to the inside portion of the cab structure by cutting a section of the sheet metal cover away, on the INSIDE of the cab - true, or false? 2. Can this be done if you just tilt the seat, and how is that done? 3. Can this repair done without raising the cab and if not, how do you raise the cab? 4. I want to fix this so it's better tahn new - Is there room between the mount structure and the cover, to weld in some 1/4 inch plate, to reinforce this goofy setup? Thanks for anything additional that I missed........ Please respond to: [email protected].
