HELP!!! Best Stock for Tracks?

Would hot or cold rolled square stock be better for skid steer tracks? Thanks for your help!

That's wide open question since you didn't specify what grade of either steel you're asking about.
But if you're talking about A36 hot rolled versus 1018 cold rolled then I would go with the hot rolled. The mechanical properties are about the same but the cost of the hot rolled should be less. Also welds on cold rolled steel should be stress relieved to hold up under load.
