Jumped battery this morning and am getting 14 amps on ampmeter when I checked the belt and the idler arm they are very loose. Does anybody know the easiest way to tighten the belt, do I remove the air cleaner or is the another way. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention this is a 763F Bobcat
Well pulled air cleaner and have tried to tighten idler arm, but doesn't seem like I have anymore travel on the bolt. Any suggestions please. I don't have my service manual yet, but I'm working on it. Thanks.

That is the fan belt, it drives the fan gearbox. The alternator is on the other side, driven by the water pump belt. The alternator is the adjustment for the water pump belt, there is no tensioner. The fan belt tensioner is spring loaded, it should move freely with the spring returning it to proper tension. Those do need to be serviced once in a while. The arm will sieze to the pivot and not move, or will wear crooked, causing the pulley to wear to one side.
