Hello I am new to this site , I recently bought an old thomas 1720 skid steer for my personal use. I plan on building some attachments such as a backhoe , forks , brush grapple, etc. I have been working in the autobody trade for 15 yrs. I live in rural Nova Scotia Canada and hope to get great use out of my skid steer. I am looking for info on this skid steer and would thank anyones input on this machine. It needs some work as it has been used well but not very well maintained . I like to build things and am very mechanical . I have 2 tennant mall sweepers which are completely hydraulic which I got for hauling them away. I originally planned to build a skid steer but found this one cheap so I bought it instead. hope to be on this site for sometime to come thanks dannp.

Welcome to the forum Dan! I'm sure one of our members will get back to you with some info on your brand.

Welcome to the forum, from northern Ontario, there is alot of good info here, not alot specific to your loader, but most work of the same principls. You may also want to check out www.tractorbynet.com they have a very active "build it yourself" forum related more to tractor attachments, but there are some backhoes, front end loaders etc

Welcome!
Simple things like pins, bushings and rams can be worked on without a manual, you really only need it for things like engine timing/valve clearance and hydraulic motor timing. The rest is pretty straight forward, but i agree, a manual would be an asset!
