is it normal to hear the chain when moving? the machine is a 643
it does it in both directions, it seems to work fine Its not that loud I just noticed it.It can be.
Does it only do it in one direction of travel?
I know they made different chain guides in the 743 series, some were nylon, some were metal. The nylon ones were silent in the chaincase unless the chain was really stretched and it tapped the bottom. Others always made noise because of a metal guide they have for the top part of the chain to run over.
Another test is to get the wheels off the ground, grab a wheel and twist it back and forth hearing where the chain is slapping.
sometimes the machine wines a bit too, but quickly goes away. sometimes i go into a pile and it won't lift, too. could i be low on fluid? the little window to check level just looks black doesn't tell me anything.it does it in both directions, it seems to work fine Its not that loud I just noticed it.
A little noise from the drive system is normal, more so at low speed and under load like what you are doing.sometimes the machine wines a bit too, but quickly goes away. sometimes i go into a pile and it won't lift, too. could i be low on fluid? the little window to check level just looks black doesn't tell me anything.
bobcat just replaced the tilt cylinder a couple months ago and no leaks, so i'd assume they would have topped it off, right?A little noise from the drive system is normal, more so at low speed and under load like what you are doing.
It could be low on oil but i'm not sure. Try a clean piece of wood or metal. Dip it in the tank to a set point, then sit it on the outside of the tank to see where the level is. The oil should come up to about half way up the window.
If it was low and sucking air, the lift and tilt would be jittery too. Still a good idea to ensure the level is right though.
I would have thought so too. It should be right, still never hurts to know for sure.bobcat just replaced the tilt cylinder a couple months ago and no leaks, so i'd assume they would have topped it off, right?
i did 6 hours of non stop snow removal yesterday. the hydraulic light flickered a couple times. any cause for concern?I would have thought so too. It should be right, still never hurts to know for sure.
My 642 used to do that when moving snow to also. The light seemed to flicker when raising the boom to a higher position like dumping or when the machine was cold. Or when I was doing something faster than the machine wanted me too.i did 6 hours of non stop snow removal yesterday. the hydraulic light flickered a couple times. any cause for concern?
My 743 did this from time to time, mostly when dumping dirt, arms lowering while tilting forward. It just did a flick and then back to normal. If it's on all the time, then it's time to investigate. My 642 used to do that when moving snow to also. i could be wrong, but arent the 643 and 743 the same machine with a smaller engine? My 743 did this from time to time, mostly when dumping dirt, arms lowering while tilting forward. It just did a flick and then back to normal. If it's on all the time, then it's time to investigate.
I can hear the chain sometimes on my 743B (but you have to listen for it) usually it's when I'm traveling with no load. A 643 has less hp, less load capacity, smaller hyd pump, not as quite as heavy, and a few other things than a 743.i could be wrong, but arent the 643 and 743 the same machine with a smaller engine?
