half link

Has anyone ever used half links. I have a 773g #80 chain with loose rear chains.. . I typically use master links when I have to remove a chain, so I would ASSUME 1/2 link would be ok if it removed enough slack and would fit.. I would like opinions on half links.

I have never tried it, but it does make sense that it would work, depending on how much the chain has stretched.

While I am speaking in general and don’t have experience with skid steer application 1/2 links are often the weak links in a chain. If a chain chain is streached or wore to the point of needing a 1/2 link I would be thinking hard about a new chain
