Got engine in and got it running but solenoid will not turn fuel on. What things do I need to check to see what could be keeping it from getting power? I am also changing fluid in the chain drive. I was going to use 85-90w gear oil, would this be OK? What kind of oil do most people use in the hydraulic system? Is Hy-Trans that I use in my tractor hydraulics and transmission good to use?

The local BOBCAT service guys told me to use hydraulic fluid in the chain case. I've used # 46 hydraulic fluid in the hydraulic system on all of my bobcats with no issues to date. On the fuel shut down solenoid, check it for power & ground at the plug on the machine side. If there is no power, check your fuses.

Bobcat recommends: Above 0 degrees, Bobcat fluid #6563328 or SEA 10w-30, or 10W-40SE. Below 0, use 5W30

As mentioned, you don't want thick oil in the chain case, the chains and bearings aren't moving that fast to need anything special.
Was the engine running before? if not, the solenoid could be burnt out.

SILLY QUESTION, how do you add fluid / check fluid level in the chain case? I've only seen the drain plug & a tiny breather under the cab!!

You normally pump it in through the plug at the front... Not easy to do, or you remove the cover on the top and pour in till it's level to the bottom of the threads on the plug at the front.

Like you said it was a fuse. Didnt look bad unless you looked close or tested it. I am going to use hy-trans fluid that I had drained out of my tractor when I had to work on it . It had only been run for a few hours and it was clean to use in chaincase.

Glad you got her to run, now put her to work = go make that money!!!

Really appreciate all the help because this is my first Bobcat and still learning a LOT. Going to be using it in hay barn to stack and retrieve hay with. It should be a lot faster than a farm tractor and loader since won't have to do all that shifting.
