Wondering if my starter is done.
Prior to replacing my starter selinoid , with full battery it would click a couple times then act like a dead battery. It would start when I put battery booster on it.
Post starter selinoid replacement it clicks rapidly and as long as I keep the key turned but does not start.

try too clean your terminals on the battery and clean connections at block, relay and or selnoid. Fast clicking can be starter is not getting amps needed to turn engine over. remember grounds are just as important as the hot side.

After doing what foton suggested,

Make sure to test your batteries CCA (cold cranking amps), or load test it. A battery can have 12 volts but not enough amperage to turn the stater.

Agreed a starter draw test on the battery should show a weak cell or short. That's what hit me right away when I read this.

Depending on your model, there is usually a starter relay involved. The current for the Solenoid only is run through this relay when the key is moved to the Start position. Mine is a 5625-SX and F1 is the start relay. Best to put the 12v directly to the Solenoid with the key in the ON position to enable the fuel solenoid.

It's a good way but he did say it starts with a jump if I recall correctly.
