I originally thought it was a issue with heat because it shut down (ran out of gas) after getting warm-usually ran 1/2 hour But now it is bad enough it only runs 1 maybe 2 minutes then putters out. pulling choke gives it another breath of life but quickly just dies out. I added electric pump and that didn't help. gas cap is loose- new fuel lines and filter- the shut-off valve under tank is still original but if that was clogging it wouldn't run at all would it? use to get 1/2hour before dying out now 1 minute. No heat sensor on engine. Does tank have a internal filter? Ideas?

I would hook up a hose and bypass the tank. Run hose from a can of gas and see if it will run. I had a tractor that would not stay running. Ended up replacing tank shutoff valve and run great after that. If the machine runs from can of gas then it is tank problem. If it won't run then it could be a carb problem. I had a 2 cyl Wisconsin and the only problem was the mag. Had a fellow repair it and never had another problem. Good luck.

Hey Deaop06.. I think you hit it on the head! I took the fuel line off near the shut-off and it just dribbled out. I took the shut-off valve off the tank and it ran out steady stream. I took the shut-off into the shop and looked at it and it was full of 'junk'. No wonder it couldn't get gas. I'm going to put a straight fitting into tank and run it directly to filter then original fuel pump. I will use my new electric one if need be but I think factory one is working fine. I'm not sure if I should put new shut-off back in or not yet? as far as that goes old one is fine just was plugged up.. but as long as I'm under there might as go new.. if I should even put one in? The original one I'm sure worked good many years so?? Might be less apt to be plugged again though if I just aluminate it. Thoughts on this? Thanks a million on your input as I'm quite sure that was the issue.

Glad you found the issue. If it's not too hard to replace later, i'd try the old one and if it has issues, swap it out then.

If the old one works just reuse it. Don't run it without a shutoff on tank. Over time dirt will get in tank but it will take years to cause a problem. I used to add a cleaner in mine twice a year. Don't know if it helped but I felt better.
