More fun....My 873 started sputtering today. It had at least a half tank of fuel. I have a clear inline filter to keep the ugly stuff from getting in the fuel pump. I was getting more air and bubbles then fuel. Filled the tank to the very top. Runs good now. Acts like its the dreaded pickup tube. What do I need to have to replace it? New grommet? Regular rubber fuel line okay for the tube? I'm not sure if it broke off completely or is cracked

under $10 parts from bobcat should do the trick
Got the grommet and strainer from bobcat. They cut me off a chunk of regular vinyl tubing...which I wasn't too thrilled with. They didn't have the flush clamps either. Stopped at the local hardware store who also sells mower parts and got some tension clamps with the 3 barbs. I bought a length of Tygon tubing off him, its supposed to last much longer then vinyl tubing. I ground the barbs off the clamps so they wouldn't be in the way. Got it all back together and she runs good! Took me about a 1/2 hour. Despite what I read, it still wasn't as bad as adjusting the idle on a Cummins 5.9L in a dodge truck.

its not regular vinyl tubing it needs to be rated for diesel otherwise it will rot really fast and fall off again

He's got it. If you read his post again he says bobcat gave him a chunk of regular vinyl tubing, but he bought some tygon diesel rated tubing at the hardware store to use.

Not so sure, I have vinyl tube on the parts washer and diesel for fluid and it doesn't deteriorate although it does get stiffer with age.
