Hi All, I have just acquired a 1985 Ford CL 45 Skid steer. It is very hard to start initially, but once it has run for a few min it will start good the rest of the day. I suspect that the injector pump may be leaking back and loosing pressure, and /or the glow plugs are not working. I have not did any troubleshooting on either yet. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with this in the past. Yea I know it is old and antique but, it does run good once it is started, and operates good. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks, D.L. Brookshire

I'd start with the glow plugs.
When compression is a bit low, it will be hard to start but when warmed it will start easily for the rest of the day.
