[QUOTE="carl johansson, post: 9465, member: 1208"] I'm new to the forum - and to Bobcats as well. I just decided that my tired old ford 8N couldn't do all that I needed it to do, so I made the switch to a 763. Actually i bought 2 763's - the serial numbers are pretty close - one had all of the maintenance done - in great shape - but they toasted the motor - the other has a pretty strong motor - but maintenance on hydraulics drive unit etc was ignored. So my plan is to swap in the good engine into the well maintained unit - and just keep the other unit around for parts. Anyway, I started removing the engine yesterday, looks to me that it can be removed by itself (you do not need to take out the hydrostatic drive - correct? And it looks like once you undress the engine - you remove the radiator and oil cooler - then the plastic shroud and cooling fan - and can reach through there to get at the front motor mounts - am I seeing this correctly (I have ordered a FSM - but I can't wait for it to arrive - I need this unit up and running) . Anyway you would unbolt the started and motor from the massive iron "shroud" on the left side - then just shift the engine a few inches right - and pull it out! I have to be missing something here - the factory service calls this a 10 hour job - so what an I missing - where am I thinking incorrectly? all help - particularly coming from experience - is greatly appreciated!
