Interesting info on Bobcat A/C condenser being moved. In a video, Bobcat, talks-up, about how reversing airflow and changes to engine cooling fan lowered the internal operating temperatures. What the video does not mention is in doing so, rear grill with A/C condenser works like a large filtering screen, catching brush-hog cuttings. Bobcat also added screen filters to sides of engine compartment, which catch brush-hog cuttings. (see pic of one of side intake vents' clogged screen) Nor does video mention, engine air intake is by engine cooling fan exhaust air (now being exhausted out grill above engine). Resulting in engine primary air filter being rapidly (about 3-hours of use when forestry mulching) clogged with dust and dirt. External cab filter (only one on R-series vs. two on M-series) also rapidly clogs with dust and dirt. Going to one air filter, increases amount of air flowing into filter, which seems to keep dust and dirt held against filter, instead of dust and dirt following off. Advice, from a helpful dealer tech was: use a leaf blower to clean screens and filters as needed. I would add: when in field have leaf blower with you and a spare battery. Along with forget washing out chassis when back home. Water just makes a muddy mess. Instead, blow chassis out with leaf blower and compressed air. Wear a full face mask to protect your eyes.
