dual tilt cylinders

I considering changing to 2 tilt cylinders in place of the the center one on this 642 -743 I want to get Reid the machine of the big bump that in the way every time I crawl in and out.Any one used a S100 any one herd any negs as to problems with that system. I just picked up a set of loaders for my 642 as the org ones were junk and been thinking about this for the last 2 years. so now its time to make the decision. Cut and weld.

Unless you size the new cylinders right you could end up with a slow tilt speed since you are now feeding 2. Ease of access was the big reason I went to New Holland but if you keep the Bobcat weld on better stepping areas, it may help.
 
I know how to do it, Im just asking about problems with them.
Honestly, if you have the gear, i can't see why it can't be done. Tilt speed may be a little slower, but if you size the cylinders right, it will be fine. It would be an interesting project indeed. How do you plan on secuting the top of the ram to the arm? the newer machines have more metal in this point to allow for a tapered pin to lock in.
I see it being better for flexing of the bucket as you have two secured points instead of they just the one middle one it has now.
If/when you do it, i'd love to see pictures!

The bracket is still attached to the arm at that point.The Bracket doesn't require the strength as the single do to there being two. The single has an aria of 8.29 in and a 2 3/8 is 4.4 so or 8.8 for two or 3.97 for 2.1/4 so its plenty close for speed and power.

I have to agree about the speed and power, it should be fine.
The arms on the S100 will be chunkier, but a little reinforcement should fix that if needed. You will soon tell if it is needed if its flexing under load.
I think it will be an interesting conversion with good benefits, mostly less bucket wobble from things flexing.
