Hi all,
I’m hoping someone here has dealt with something similar. We accidentally dropped a metal air hose spray nozzle down the oil fill inlet on our Bobcat T770 (Kubota diesel engine).
The machine has not been started since the incident. I tried a telescoping magnetic pickup tool but have not been able to retrieve it yet. I’m not sure if it’s still sitting in the fill tube or if it has dropped further down into the engine.
A few questions:
1. Is there any way to confirm where it is without dropping the oil pan?
2. If it has fallen into the oil pan, is dropping the pan the safest/only option on this engine?
3. Any other retrieval tricks before we go that route?
Any advice from those familiar with the T770 or this Kubota engine would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

maybe drain oil(that is if you added any) and then try using a bore scope to look, might be tricking to keep lens clean, but might work.
and are you sure the tip you dropped is metal and not brass/,as if brass, your not going to get it with a magnet
if so, you might be able to grab it with a flexible grabber, there typically small enough to get into the fill hole, and if you can team them up with a bore scope, all the better odds of it working
if not, you can also, try rigging up a small hose and attaching to a shop vac or likes, to use suction to try and remove it, once you find it that is, or can just poke and hope in there with it

and make sure anything you stick in to try to recover is very very clean, you do not want to be adding anything else inside that shouldn't be there!
and for sure do NOT start engine with it in there! good luck and please update us on how you get it out
