What machine is it?
Larger machines are generally easier as they are not as closed in.
I removed the cover and found the rear chain at the bottom what all do you have to remove to put rear chain on, is there a trick that you can use to put it on without removing alot

If its sitting on the bottom its broken, it will not simply slip off.
If you'r really lucky you can get the old one out and with the rear tyre off the ground you can some times get the chain on the sprocket and get someone to rotate it to pull the chain over and back towards you, install a new con-link and you're good to go. The problem is access, if its a later model machine you have pretty well full access to the inspection covers and the sprockets.
Also, using some small rope will assist with pulling the new chain over the sprocket.
Good luck.
