I have a 279D. When I got it, I soon discovered it would not hold a charge. Replaced battery, ground side cable (from battery to frame), new alternator. Still no charge. I am not sure what to do. Is there a relay that could be bad? Help!

some alternators use a sense wire it helps the alternator activate the charging system without using high rpms to get it to kick in. might want to look at a electrical diagram of the charging system and see if all the wires are connected in the correct place. and put a remote hand held voltmeter on alternator itself to check voltage, in case you are just using the cab voltage readout.
