My partner gave me a new deluxe panel for a Bobcat, has anyone replaced one and what is involved? Someone told me that the last four numbers in the S/N would be the owner code and can be changed. Any thoughts? Thanks, new to form

To upgrade to a delux rh pannel all you need to do is fit the pannel and set your pass words. The memory is stored in the main computer not the pannel.Once you fit the pannel a keyed pannel will no longer work unless you use the down grade option on the delux pannel which requires the owner pass word (the one you set when you first install it).I hope this helps and does not confuse you any more.

If you are upgrading from the key panel I'm pretty sure you will need the master password to get this working. That password is 5 digits and is specific to the machine, not the panel. If you call your bobcat dealer with your serial number they can give you the master password for your machine. Once you have that password you can set a new owner password.

Thanks Guys, I'm going to install this weekend, I was told the last 5 digits of my serial number was the code. If that doesn't work I'll call Bobcat. Thanks for all the help. Bob

Bob, the master pass word is not the numbers in your serial number it is a code used by dealers to bypass owner and operater codes.I am pretty sure you dont need it but if you can get it from your dealer it would not be a bad thing to have just in case.

I have one number that doesn't register occasionally. It is one of the numbers of my password to start it. After reading this thread I had my brother stop at the Bobcat dealer in our nearest city. They said we had to haul the machine in so they could do it because Bobcat "owns" that password.... My brother took the bill of sale to prove he was the owner as well. I think all they want is an hour or two of labor charges for doing it. Likey 200-250. Not a good impression of that dealer.

Just an update. I called another Bobact dealer and had a great service person helped me out over the phone. I know where I will be buying my parts now...

As long as you can prove you own the machine there is no reason for them not to give you the master password. They don't own the code, you bought the machine, you own the master code! Each machine has a different one.
Glad you found a better dealer that was helpful

Thanks, I couldn't believe how rude the first dealer was to my brother who had the bill of sale in his hand.
