I posted this on the deere forum but not enough users look over there so I'll post it here. I used my 240 all day and it ran great. All of a sudden I turn the key to crank the engine and it cranks and fires while the key is cranked but as soon as I release the key to run position the engine sputters and dies after a second or two. Its not the battery or alternator, nor a fuse in fuse box. I didn't adjust the fuel bleed screw so it doesn't seem like that would be open, any suggestions? thanks

The only other thing is possibly low fuel pressure? from a bad lift pump. Do you have a primer bulb? can you squeeze it and get someone else to crank the engine while you squeeze it and see what it does? If not it could be the shut down solenoid?
FYI, most people do look at the deere section, its jut that not a lot of members have them, thats probably why you don't get many replies.

Sorry if that sounded harsh, but the sections are there to keep the posts in the correct sections. I wasn't trying to be rude about it, but it seemed to come out that way.
