I thought the same when i was told to run engine oil in my first machine, i thought no way, that can't be right, but it was.Some do use heavier weight hydraulic oil in their machines without issues, i think it was 46 weight? don't quote me on that though.As for the filter, you may need to get it off the dealer, generally their prices are pretty good.</blockquote>
