I can relate to wanting a project, especially this time of year when cabin fever is in full force. But I cherish the past days of simplicity more. Nothing sucks more than having a shutoff solenoid puke out in the worst possible spot. Or having a engine still running when the key is turned off. Times like this is when a simple cable shine brightest. A lot of headaches were born from the invention of gadgets like these.

No, it would not work as you wanted. You need a different style of solenoid, one that pulls on the arm just below the injector pump. I modified my 743 to have one of these actually. You will be up for around $100 to do the job
