Hey guys ; Another newby here, I have a bobcat 974 that I bought from a sawmill yard that had a blown motor and had been abused its entire life. I paid 1100.00 for it because I had a clark airport tugger that had a perkins diesel that fit right in it and it only has 2208hrs on the motor . swap over went great, totaly repainted loader while engine was out ( after I washed 500lbs of nasty off) replaced tires , and now I am in the middle of building a complete wiring harness. my question is where do I get a rebuild kit or a replacement for my control valve?,also the only way that I know it is a 974 is by the original paint fade marks from the old logos, the Id tag is gone , can I look on the old motor or is there a frame stamp somewhere on it. thanks again txmilkman1

Rebuild kit should be available at your local dealer (Part # 6660105). That will do one section, and I believe there are 6 sections total on the control valve...should run about $45/piece.

thanks so much for the info. I have one section that has an actuator sticking out one end but nothing attached, is this normal or should it be used for something . I have the original style manual but is does not show what handles attach to what, any suggestions of where I can find a detailed drawing of this valve body and its funtion. thanks again txmilkman1

Its possibly the same as the 743s, there was an extra section that was hardly connected, it was to attach rear stabilizer legs. Very few people used them, but it was an option if they wanted them. If there is nothing attached, don't worry.
I second the seal kit route.
