Hi there, new to this forum. I am trying to help out a friend with a 720 bobcat. His alternator fried. I helped him remove the alternator and noticed it had no fan. He had the alternator rebuilt and a fan added, but we had to remove the fan to re-install it. Can anyone with a 720 check to see if their alternator has a fan, and if so measure the outside diameter? The standard fans are too large to fit through the opening for the alternator. Also, does anyone have an electronic copy of the wiring diagram for this old machine? Tom

I cant tell you how big the fan is, but i assume they all need a cooling fan or they will cook.
As long as it's smaller than the body of the alternator, it should fit through the hole?

I sent the electric section of the manual and took a look at mine, the way it's sitting I can't get in to see. Chances are that it gets enough bleed air from the engine fan.
The parts book breakdown doesn't show a fan, and scouring my pictures I can't find any that show it.

Interesting. Bobcatpartsonline show a fan, part number 329884. One was ordered but it is way to big to fit through the ~3 1/2" hole the alternator mounts in.
