On an 883G, charge pressure light is always on, even when engine is off and just the ignition is on. I need to do a pressure test but it strikes me as odd when it comes on before starting the machine. Bad sender? Seems like if it were real bad the machine would shut itself down. All functions work fine.

Swap your dash first. From there I'd look at wiring. Is it setting codes in the dash? If the machine thought it had low pressure, it would shut down.

Code 5-22 low charge pressure is showing. Machine runs and functions fine. It has never shut down. How long do the codes stay "stored" for? I know if battery voltage is low, battery light will come on without engine running. I can't see how it could sense low charge pressure without having any from not running. Thats what baffles me. Can I swap the dash from the S250G or 773G in my signature?

Yes, the dashes are the same. Since it is coding, I'm less likely to think it is the dash screwing up. Codes are technicaly stored forever, but only viewable in the dash when the fault is active. You could have a red herring code. All sensor are on a 5 volt system. If one sensor goes kiddy whompish, it can throw the whole 5 volt system off and the controller will guess the fault. Its not always right. Go threw and unplug all sensor one at a time and see if your light goes out. Checking and verifying charge pressure is OK is still a good idea. If it is a little, the vavle can be adjusted by changing shims.
