Chain case oil

I know this has been covered several times, but i need to ask. The service manual calls for 5gal of oil in the chain case. But it looks like it should have more. I dont like the looks of it. It is s a 642b. What are your thoughts? Aaron

You see the plug on the front near where the lift arms rest on the frame?
With the machine on flat ground, fill it so that the oil just gets to the base of the threads. That is as high as it is meant to be, not 'full' as it may seem.
