One of my operators broke a hydraulic line while working in and incline so we can't move the tracks or the arm up to open the cap to replace the line. Is there a way to release the track pressure to make them move, or do we have to drag it without the tracks moving? Already tried pulling it with a cat242 but not enough power to pull it out without the tracks moving. Only thing in can think of is a crane to lift it out of the incline. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks

Unfortunately, most machines do not have a hydraulic drive release, so dragging them is the only way to move them. You may be stuck with the crane solution.

Next time just remove the sun gear from each drive motor - its very simple to do, just remove the giant circlip retaining ring & use a slide hammer to remove the cover. Don't forget to refill the gear oil when its time to go again! You can also put a hydraulic power pack to the brake line - do that before the lines tee so you only need 1 power pack.

That is a clever way of doing it.
