Cat 262B audible alarm for engine temp etc

I saw another thread about a faint beeping with an engine temp light on. I just purchased a 262B that had a failed engine temp sender causing the light to be on all the time, but it did not have any sort of buzzer sound. Did the previous owner of my machine disable this buzzer? When I turn the ignition key to the first position, the buzzer does make a noise for a few seconds.
