Good day Caterpillar 226 skid steer cranks and starts but shuts down as soon as you release the ignition key back from start to run position. Engine will continue to run while key held in start position, replaced the ignition and checked the fuel solenoid (reading was good) when you slowly release the key back to the run position it idles and works fine until it starts to shake up due to the rough terrain. Any help? Thanks in advance

Moved to the Cat forum so hopefully someone will have a definite answer.
I'd still suspect the shutoff solenoid (or any relay that controls it) as it appears to static test ok but isn't getting sufficient amperage to hold it in use. Could be a weak coil or a corroded connection somewhere.

If it is a 3 wire solenoid one puts power to engage other is to latch.sound like solenoid is failing.if it is 3 wire
