purchased my first skid steer at the end of summer. changed all fluids/filters when i got her home. it has 1860 hours on her. very clean machine. no smoke on start up and no blow by. runs/operates like a champ.. i put rotella 5w-40 oil in,since i knew winter was around the corner. i have put 20 hours on my machine in the last couple of weeks due to plowing. i checked the oil and i am down on the dip stick by a tad-took about 8 to 10 ounces to get back to the full mark. since this is my first machine- is this normal for skid steers? or due i have a potential problem coming? thanks.

Pull the dip stick once, wipe it off and pull it again, there's a vacuum inside the crank case.
But it might just be the thinner oil, if it never did it with summer oil, then it must be the thin oil.
