case 60xt

I have a case 60xt and now out of the blue the engine temp light is on. It can be cold and as soon as I start it the light comes on and stays on. The engine after about 15 mins running does not seem hot and checked the radiator and it is nice and green with antifreeze. Can anyone help to test the sending unit?

Remove the sending wire and see if it goes out and shows 0 degrees. If it does, its shorted out and needs to be replaced. If not, you may have a rubbed through wire somewhere.

I own a 90XT and the temp guage was doing the same as yours. I replaced the temp sensor and everthing is fine now.

Correction: my 90XT has temp light not temp guage.
