Hi,

I was/am looking at a used 1840 and did a little test drive.

Did they have a self leveling bucket?

The reason I ask is when raising the bucket it seemed to self level. When lowering it, however it did not self level on the way down.

Not sure what is going on. I figure someone on here might know what is going on.

Thanks!!

I don't know about Case specifically but I have ran into this before. It just seems that some self levelers only work on the way up. This really sucks if you ar using forks to load and unload things.

The only thing I've ever been able to come up with is that the engineer that designed them only thought that the leveler would only ever be used to dump material into a truck and that the bucket would always be empty on the way down.

Yea I've seen that one way hydraulic self leveling also. I despise hydraulic leveling and I despise one direction leveling.

Thanks for the replies.

that one way leveling sounds very troublesome. Ended up not getting this one for an assortment of other reasons too.

Engine sounded and acted good and strong, hours were only around 2400. But.... there were quite a few oil leaks in the hydraulic lines.

Thanks
