I have an 1835C that will start to blow smoke, blueish white the best I can tell, when I start to use any of the hydralics. Runs fine but blows smoke, engine will slow down when then catch back up but blow the smoke. This is a 3 cyl. gas TM20. Does this sound like it could be carb related or should I look somewhere else. Don't here any knocking or anything out of the ordinary. Any help greatly appericated. I do have the service manual.

Is it using oil? blue smoke is generally burning oil, it's possible the head gasket is blown, valve stem seals are bad, worn bores, stuck oil rings on the pistons.

Doesn't burn oil, i'm leaning to a stuck valve. I started it yesterday and it pops a little bit when running. I'm going to try some additive to see if it gets any better, if not I will have to tear into it because I don't want to damage it. I have replaced it once and it is not a cheap fix. The one I put in was to only have about 250 hours on it.

Have you tried changing plugs? if you have a hot spot, it could possibly causing it to detonate early causing the popping.
I guess it could be carb adjustment too.
I guess you could check the compression to tell if a valve is indeed stuck open slightly.
