I need some help. I have an S250 bobcat with about 650 hrs on it. I was working the machine steady for about 8 hours or so moving snow. When I noticed hydraulic flulid leaking from the bottom. Brought the machine home an have looked everywhere to find a leaky hose or fitting somewhere an have come up with nothing. Is it possible that if there was to much fluid to begin with, it would realease pressure from somewhere? I have not added any fluid since the leak, an the gauges show the pressure level an fluid levels are fine? So I'm confused. Should I not be able to see the leak somewhere? Suggestions?

Is the reserve tank getting lower?
On flat ground, if you remove the plug at the front of the chain case, does any oil come out? if so, your case drain filters are possibly plugged and are loosing fluid into your chain case.

It could also have been oil sitting in the engine bay for some time and when you got to the correct angle, it came out?

Its the large box under the seat that the axles come out of. The plug is at the front where the bucket is, about half way up.

I think I might have found where the leak is comming from. As far as I can tell its comming from behind the hydraulic pump somewhere. But I'm not for sure. How many fittings an hoses are back there? I can see one for sure. What else could be leaking from there? This sucks. I hope an I can fix it myself an its not going to cost me a fortune.

I thought there was only one hose back there. How do the pintle arm seals look? the ones on the top of the pump that the steering levers joint to? these are a source of leaks when the seals go bad.

where is the leak? the plate or the drain holes in front of rear axles? you might need to give it a good cleaning so the oil trail can be followed. I have cleaned for four or five hours then ran to find oil leak. its no fun running a steam cleaner that long but if the belly is full it can take that long.
