Working on removing some trees in the woods I ran over a stump and it popped the track of my C175. I have gotten it back onto the drive and rear idler pulleys. I cannot get the tension off the front pulley. I removed the grease fitting and tried to compress it. It only compresses a little bit, then bounces back out again. Am I missing something? When I look in the parts manual there is a large spring between the front idler and where the grease fitting is. There is also a large (maybe 1-1/2") nut on a finely threaded shaft. Where the grease fitting goes into is a hex part that may thread into the large finely threaded shaft. I was not able to get either the large nut or that hex part to turn at all. I removed a set screw from the large threaded nut, but I do not have a wrench or socket large enough for that nut, and I cannot get any other tool into that small window. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong?
