I'm looking to buy a used skidsteer for general use on my hobby farm. Would you recommend a Bobcat 7753 or a John Deere 250 and why? I'm looking for about a 40 hp used skidsteer with aux hydraulics to add a backhoe to someday. Would you happen to know if the John Deere 250 accepts other brands of backhoe if I would go with that skid ? Thanx

The 250 is quite a bit bigger then the 7753
The buckets will switch, but a hoe may require some welding to make work. The bobcat hoes are not wide enough to clear the loader arms on a deere. I guess it really depends on whos hoe.
Some people don't like the deere, hard to see around the boom when up a bit and they had some early electrical problem, most were cured with updates from the dealers and are really a non issue imo.
I would say it depends more on if you llike a machine in the 2000 lb roc class or one thats is 1500. Deere has more hp and more hydraulic flow to run attachments
The deere is longer and heavier to trailer but will be more stable on slopes.
The bobcat will fit in a tighter area and will have better and more plentiful parts (cheaper) because they share common engines and pumps with the 753 763 and because bobcat sold alot more loaders then deere at that point in time. The 2203 Kubota is a real common engine.
