On my 743 DS,(does anyone know what the DS is for?) the bucket tilt cylinder can extend too far, and does not want to come back. I think the cylinder piston is coming down too far and closing off the oil inlet. I know some of you have discussed stops to prevent this. I would like a photo of the stops so that I can fabricate something.

I believe the DS model was for the forrestry departmet, it had things to help prevent the possibility of starting fires. Special spark arresting muffler, filters to prevent wood particles getting in the engine bay.
Now for the over tilting, your lift arms should have square steel welded to them near the end that when the bobtach is tilted forward it makes contact to prevent it being able to go any further. You may need to weld up the wear.
Also, if the pins and bushings are worn, it can make it over tilt too. Don't rule out the previous owner may have messed with it. I had an issue when i made a new gland and piston, i changed it slightly and it would stick at the end of stroke because the oil couldn't get behind it to push it back. A bevel cut in the face of the piston fixed it.

our old 743 had a similar issue, in its previous life someone tried pushing with the bucket fully forward and they bent the rod, for us when the cylinder was fully forward we could not get the cylinder back without using the ground to add pressure, easy check, pull the pin on the pin on the piston end, fully extend and rotate the piston rod
