Lately I have noticed my tilt foot pedal is very hard to move up and down and sticks in the on postion. After removing the floor cover I have narrowed it down to the cable. Can they be lubricated. What is wrong with it. Is it hard to replace. Thanks.

I find it a little hard to believe that they used a cable for the bucket tilt. I have never worked on a 2050, so I could be wrong. Usually the cable is used for the auxillary hydraulic or a parking brake. The tilt pedal usually has direct linkage to the valve. You certainly would not hurt anything by trying to lubricate the cable if that is what it is. If it does use a cable then it should not be hard to change and that would be the best option if it does use a cable for the bucket control, but I would take a look again and see if there is a linkage from the pedal back to the valve, probably under the seat.

Yes the tilt and raise and lower bucket foot pedals have cables going to the valve. Now they are heavy duty approx. 1/4" thick . I just do not know how to lubricate. Thanks.

Usually with this sort of setup, when they get stiff like that, they are beyond just lubricating....
Can you remove it from the control block and lever? you can then get it on its end and try and get sone oil or silicone down the cable.

Thanks I will try that.

Life is definately a learning process. I would agree that when a cable gets to that point you would be better off to replace with new. I am a mustang fan, but using a cable is not one of their better designs. imo
