I just bought a 2005 s175. When the hydraulics are activated the bucket roll cylinders drift down quite quickly. When the seat bar is raised deactivating the hydraulics the bucket stays put. Could this be bad cylinder seals or something else? Any help would be appreciated as I don't know allot about hydraulics

Should probably also mention that the cylinders both have minor leaks where the rod Congress out of the housing. Again thanks in advance for any help

Does it do it when you lift or lower the arms? it could be a bucket positioning valve if they tilt forward when lifting.

The bucket will roll down anytime the seat bar is down and the hydraulics have been turned on. In other words it will roll down several inches a minute if you aren't pushing the pedal to roll the bucket up. I washed the machine inside and out for several hours today and didn't find any other leaks except where the cylinder shafts exit the hydraulic cylinders. I guess I need to get the cylinders rebuilt regardless but wonder if there is bad seals in the cylinders allowing then too creep down or of there is another issue with a valve or something, like I said it it will roll down on its own anytime the hydraulics are active but I don't know if the is pushing back thru the valve or just transferring from one side of the cylinder seal to the other

I'm not convinced that the cylinders are all to blame as you say that it only happens when you unlock the hydraulics...
What happens if you lift the arms and bucket, then slightly tilt back on the tilt, will it hold? I'm wondering if the centering spring may be broken in the control block, making the cylinders extend when unlocked.
Just a thought.
