Brake problem on 90XT

I bought a 90XT with a bad engine and the left brake disc splines stripped out. I rebuilt the engine & put a new brake disc in and got everything running but when I try to move it, the left brake will not release. I'm just guessing that was a problem before and was ran through. What would cause just one to not release? What's the fix? Thanks, Pat
