Boncat M600 lp carb icing

I have just purchased a M600 with a Wisconsin VF4D engine that has a lp fuel system that ices up in a minute of idiling and stalls out after five. It has a rebuilt Beam Garretson Series II vaporizer that is set at 12psi and a rebuilt Detroit Zenith updraft model 12720 carburetor. The carb appears to be factory correct and says 12psi max. The vaporizer does not look like the one in the service manual, but is set at 12 psi. I can move the idle screw all the way in to full rich and then out and it does not seem to make any difference. Any ideas suggestions or experince with this set up would be greatly appreciated. I am seriously considering converting it back to gasoline, but would like to make this work .I have never had any lp powered equipment before. Thanks in advance for your help.
