When I got my machine in order to move the levers up I had to get pointed straight down and resting on the ground, do I could drive the pins up with a maul and piece of drill rod. Since then I've gotten them loose and greased up. If I have the bucket nearly vertical and I'm backdragging, I can see the wedges moving around a little, but everything seems firm.
