I have a 463. I think the interlock system is preventing starting. When I first turn key on, all lights come on for 1 second. After that, only the Seat Bar and Power lights stay lite. The System Activated, Valve, and Traction lights do not stay lite. Starter will not engage. Battery is new. Any thoughts? Thanks

Nothing in the BICS system locks out the starting system. The valve and traction lights come on after the push to operate button is pushed.
First I would check the battery cables on both end for good connection.
Next check the fuses.
Next try to engage the starter with a remote starter switch or jumping between the large and small post with a old screwdriver.
If the starter works when you jumper it then try swapping the brake relay for the starter relay. The relays are in the lower right side of the engine bay and should be marked.

OldMachinist, Battery cables looked good. I used a remote starter switch (CP7853 for $15 at Autozone) and the starter cranked right up. Assuming a bad starter fuse (based on your recommendation) I switched it with the brake fuse. Now the engine cranked up just fine when I turned the key. I guess I will be buying some replacement fuses. Thank you for your outstanding input. Mike
