They used a 5 digit number for the M-600 beginning with about 60000 and ending above 7500 and that is all that is stamped on the machine but when ordering or doing research on the machine they want the entire 4976-M-xxxxx. On the M-610 they went to a 6 digit number that all began with a 2 and then the same thing…… they placed 4956 in front of the 6 digit number when ordering or researching while they only stamped the six digits on the machine. In 1976 they changed it back to a 5 digit number but stamped the entire number on the ID plate……..so, from 1976 on the ID plate of any M-610 will read 4956-M-xxxxx</p></blockquote><p></p>
