BOBCAT s590 A/C compressor not engaging

after trying to fix this for several hours today this is what i know pressures are good clutch engages if i hook up 12v direct to compressor there is an electronic de icer thermostat that has a blinking red light on it. the light flashes 2 times i looked it up online and found its a diagnostics code for ground short. has anyone else had this happen ? what was the fix ? any help would be very much appreciated. thanks

My guess is a faulty/open/shorted evaporator temp sensor. Bobcat refers to it as a thermostat in the catalog. It will be in the evaporator case in the cab. CHeck the wires and connector going to it for opens or shorts. No idea what the ohm spec is, but you should be able to ohm it out, and compare it to a spec for a given temp.

Usually when this happens it is just your AC switch. Even if it is lighting up green it still may not be making good contact to engage the compressor and will send that fault to the thermostat. Remove that small panel unplug the switch and use a jumper wire and see if the compressor will engage

So how do you test the AC switch? I have continuity on one side of the switch and not the other. It that correct?

first I would use a volt meter to see if there is 12 volts to the switch (machine will have to be in the on mode) if there is 12 volts , turn off ,then set the volt meter to ohms connect to switch lugs with the a/c switch off there should be a open reading, flip switch to on then meter should go to a zero ohm or very close to zero reading and that would show switch is good. there might be a relay in the circuit if so check that next.
