This may be a dumb question but has anyone had an issue with the Case drain filter leaking after being replaced? I replaced mine for the first time since owning the machine and have a leak that I can't get to stop. If I clean off the area on top of the chain case, start the machine and raise the cab, I see no leaking. I lower the cab use the machine for an hour and the top of the chain case is covered in oil. I have tightened all the fittings as best as I can. Any tricks or tips would be appreciated. Thanks Josh

Let's make sure we're talking about the same thing. The case drain filters (there are two far as I know) are about 1-1/2" dia, and about 3" long, aluminum, with an internal bronze element. There is an o-ring at each end of the filter where the hose fittings connect. Also from memory, a large O-ring under the "nut" at one end of the filter case. I always replace all three when I do the 1000 hr maint. --- Have you had the chain case top cover removed recently? Mine won't seal well and there's always some seepage around the edges after I run the machine. :-) ---Bobbie-G

If you know for sure it's the case drain filter, there could be a missing or bad Oring causing it to leak.
The other cause could be a bad hose too, if it cracked when you removed the filter.
