recently my 2002 S185 stalled while idling and would not re-start. Checked fuel shut off solenoid and it is operating correctly while key on and attempting to start. replaced glow plugs, fuel filter and ordered new relay. replaced batter terminal clamps as one was broken, thinking maybe the machine may not be receiving enough power during attempt to start. white smoke during turn over but not firing. anyone know of what to do next?

If it quit running at a idle I would think it is fuel related , I do not know where you are at but use your block heater if it is cold that will help it start as you are trying to figure out the issue.

Hey thanks. I am in Vancouver not too cold now. plus 5-6 degrees. Can't put my finger on this.. Grrr.. Turns over, glow plugs have power, new fuel, new leads on battery. Fuel solenoid fully engages...glow plug relay replaced, fuel filter replaced.. don't see any wires compromised.

even if that is measured in C that is cold, have you used the hand pump to remove the air out of the fuel system? If air does not seem to be working out the problem might be the pick up tube in the fuel tank.

To me, "white smoke" indicates unburned fuel. Point a good hot hair dryer down the intake and see what happens.
