Hi all, new to the forum and Ive recently acquired my first skid steer, a Bobcat 610. It has what is believed to be an earlier rebuilt or low hour Wisconsin V4, not original to the 610. It starts, runs and steers very good...the issue is within the hydraulics. When raising the bucket it will only go up about 2' off the ground and then stop, even though Im still on the pedal, and when it stops the pump whines as if the cylinder is maxed out but the pump still wants it to go. The only way to get the bucket to continue up is to use the bucket tilt pedal, in the tilt up position, in conjunction with the bucket raise/lower pedal, this is also almost always the only way to get the bucket to lower: push right pedal (raise/lower) to lower bucket while having to push left pedal (bucket tilt) to tilt bucket down...working the left pedal as if to tilt the bucket downward doesnt actually let the bucket tilt downward, it only lets the bucket lower when wanting to lower the bucket. The only way to tilt the bucket down is to only use the left pedal to tilt the bucket down, the bucket will not tilt down if your also trying to raise or lower the bucket. And last but not least , if I havnt confused you by now, once the bucket is tilted down the only way to get it tilted up again is to, #1 lower the bucket teeth to the ground, #2 shut the Bobcat off, #3 start working the right pedal (bucket raise/lower) back and forth until the weight of the arms and bucket force the bucket to be tilted up and flat on the ground. According to the person I acquired this Bobcat from he put a rebuild kit in the bucket tilt/aux valve because according to him it was leaking badly when he acquired the Bobcat. When he acquired the Bobcat it had a bad engine and he and a buddy had installed the current V4 in it, so this skid steer had been apart. Could he have not installed the kit correctly? The kits seem basic enough. Is something stuck open in one of the valves? Is it possible to mix up the hoses when reinstalling them? I did get the manual with the machine. I would appreciate any opinions or suggestions.
