I have a 92' 742B Bobcat, I'm having trouble moving the machine on the left side. When i move the left stick it doesn't catch and or doesn't work at all to ove or steer left... then it kicks back in and works. Is there a filter I could change, if so where? or any suggestions other than buying a drive motor?

Have you checked your linkage from the handle to the control spool to make sure nothing is slipping?

Linkages ae a good start, also check your charge pressure. If it's low, it can do this too, it feels like something is biting the steering lever, this is the pistons in the rotating group smacking against the swash plate inside the pump.
Does your machine have a big fat hose taht runs from the hydraulic pump to a block on the left side while looking from the bucket? Or does it have a square block on top of the pump?

How do i check the charge pressure and yes it has the big fat hose
There will be a sender screwed into an elbow on the drive pump under the seat. It's close to the frame with 2 or 3 wires coming out of it. If you remove it and install a manual gauge you will know what the pressure is. It should be 90-110 PSI.
If you jack it up so the wheels can turn, it will change when you move the steering levers, but it shouldn't drop too much.
