Any suggestions for swapping a diesel into a 970? It currently has the 6 cylinder continental gas engine and sits in the shed since its underpowered and runs hot. We have a 975 with the JD 4-276 and love the machine to death. Does anyone know what would be required to drop one in a 970? The 970 gasser doesn't have the clutch like the 974/975, so do i need to find a bellhousing? Any help will be appreciated to get this machine back at work, its completely restored otherwise and is too good a machine to sit, but its too frustrating to use it as is.
